No one can pass the coming of age when it happens. The children who enter the age 12 above will enter a development in their body both physically and mentally. In this age, children will become questioning about events in their surroundings. They will naturally grow an instinct to learn something new and try to grasp it. A clinical psychologist and the writer of How to Keep Your Teen Out of Trouble and What To Do If You Can’t Neil Bernstein said that moodiness, immersion and the obsession with peer agreement always infects the teen. However what becomes the main issue is how they handle the teenage problem. Such as drugs, violence, free sex and alcohol.
According to Neil Bernstein there are four steps to solve the teenage problem. First try to set limits. Tell the children what they can and cannot do and Make sure they are understood. Once they understand they will stop trespass the rules. Second be a reasonable person. Give them unreasonable rules and restrictions, the teens will understand you. Don’t try to become a “dictator” to your children. Third negotiates to your children. There are some boundaries that must be trespassed by the teens. These boundaries not always a good thing but will contribute to their maturity. As parents it is their job to give which boundaries that must be trespassed. Last keep the communication going on. Always ask them what happens in school, do their have problems and much else. This will help the teens understand their situation and knows what’s best for them. (more…)

Benefit of Technology In Classroom

The development of internet technology affects the lives of students in the whole world. The fact that much information can be collected within five minutes in one place inspires many schools to invest the technology in their classrooms. With this practice technology the students believed that they could find information to study, do their homework and many others. However based on observation and research, even though there is technology in the classroom, the students almost make no differences in their academy mark. This is becoming a debate if the technology is harmful or helpful.
According to the Shelley Pasnik, director of the center education and technology said that the using of technology in the classroom can be effective if the teachers do innovations that stimulate the students. The teachers must know how to combine the main point of the curriculum and objectives of class with students of the class. For example, they can do homework that requires using the internet to do it. This activity believed can make the use of technology move better. Besides that it’s also good in student’s personalized learning. In math games, the level of difficulty to electronic books proven gives more benefits in their understanding. An interactive game also increases capability of memorization such as geography term, math problems, and spelling, this makes the students improve in their critical thinking, character development , and problem solving. Fourth Grade Math

Math is one of the important subjects in school today. Math is one of the subjects that looked as the measure of people’s intellectual. Math is also trains people logical thinking. It is believed that when a person has a good thing he has a good logical thinking. This subject will be taught from kindergarten to high school. Every grade has its subjects that will be focused to study by the students. In fourth grade there are four subjects that become the focus of study. Those subjects are: operations and calculations, understanding number and pattern, the geometry and measurement, and analysis of the data and probability. These four subjects are used to improve the ability of the students and continuation of third grade math.
Every state in America has different curriculum, however there some constants in the subject. In the beginning of fourth grade, the students will learn the constants at the standard level: adding and subtracting large number, understanding basic multiplication and division, can apply place value in our number system, learning how to round numbers to make better estimates. Learn to use tools such as thermometers and rulers to measure, understand difference of solids from the shapes, and understand the fraction of the whole and of a set, learning the basic of probabilities and statistics, learn the information based on line graphs, bar graphs, and tables. Homework: Benefit or Pressure?

Every day when children go home to school they always bring home works. The amount of time that spent when the children spent their time varies from minutes to hours. Sometimes, the children do their home works not only in their tables but dining tables. When the parents see their children make a pile of homework until the midnight, they always question the benefits of the homework. Some researchers even find that it is not the school’s obligation. Many evidences are found that there is no improvement when the children do their homework. In fact there is proof that the homework can make the student’s interest in study gone. Some schools even banning homework.
Mary Jane Cera, the academic instructor of Kino Academy a private nonprofit school from kindergarten to 12th grade which keep no homework for all grades, said that it is for keeping the student joy of studying. The school itself prioritizes the creativity of the students and social. The proponents of homework believe that homework teaches self discipline and time management. However, this is often challenged by the idea that if they don’t have a natter with homework they could lose their sense of autonomy. In Kino academy, Mary Jane said despite the students never had homework, they often take their own favorite activities such as music experiment, and writing. One of the reasons why we maintain homework is a later test of PISA that said America placed 25th in math and 21st in science. However, again, this idea is attacked by comparative tests of students in Japan, China, and 2 cities in America that there is a connection in homework and academic achievement. (more…)

Fun Activities for Children Who Suffers Autism

Autism is a rare case of mental problem that happens to children. It is a case where the children have their own world and does not have the empathy and interest in the real world. This means, they tend to shut themselves completely from their community and only want to accept what they want to believe. This makes children who suffered from autism has a major problem in socializing with the other children. However, it does not mean that children who suffered from autism have low intelligence. On the other hand, children with autism spectrum disorder tend to show an amazing degree of intelligence and creativity. The real downside of children with autism is just their lack of empathy and interest of the world beside their own imagination and favorite activity.
For children who suffer from autism spectrum disorder we need to give them more extra attention and love. To make them take more interest in their environment craft activity is a good option to do. By doing craft activities with them, it will improve their attention or sensory experiences, make them explore shape and color and of course give them fun and happy activity. Asperger’s Syndrome Signs

Some of us will not familiar with the word Asperger’s syndrome because it is syndromes that only happen to a few children in this world. This syndrome is a disorder that happens to children and sometimes hinders their development in certain areas. This syndrome is very difficult to detect because it have the same feature with another syndrome. However, there are several signs that can make us detect the probability of this syndrome in our children. Of course, we need to be cautious and careful in making judgment about our child’s behavior in their community before we determine to judge them get this syndrome
.
The first sign we need to consider if our children have an Asperger’s Syndrome is by monitoring their activity with the other children. Children who have this syndrome tends to play like an adult and mimicking quote or lines from television, books and comic. On the other hand when they are given new playing activities they do not know they will have serious difficulty to play it. This has happened because children suffered with this syndrome cannot think abstract and imaginatively which means they can only play something they already familiar and memorized. (more…)
