Sometimes, the children do their home works not only in their tables but dining tables. When the parents see their children make a pile of homework until the midnight, they always question the benefits of the homework. Some researchers even find that it is not the school’s obligation. Many evidences are found that there is no improvement when the children do their homework. In fact there is proof that the homework can make the student’s interest in study gone. Some schools even banning homework.

Mary Jane Cera, the academic instructor of Kino Academy a private nonprofit school from kindergarten to 12th grade which keep no homework for all grades, said that it is for keeping the student joy of studying. The school itself prioritizes the creativity of the students and social. The proponents of homework believe that homework teaches self discipline and time management. However, this is often challenged by the idea that if they don’t have a natter with homework they could lose their sense of autonomy. In Kino academy, Mary Jane said despite the students never had homework, they often take their own favorite activities such as music experiment, and writing. One of the reasons why we maintain homework is a later test of PISA that said America placed 25th in math and 21st in science. However, again, this idea is attacked by comparative tests of students in Japan, China, and 2 cities in America that there is a connection in homework and academic achievement. (more…)

Education Advices and Tips, Preschool Handwashing: How to Teach Your Children About Hygiene

It is by no means easy to teach your children about hygiene. However, you can make your loved ones hygiene conscious with proper method and consistency. To start emphasizing hygiene, you can do something simple by asking your children to take bath, wash hand before eating foods, comb their hair before school, wash their feet before bedtime and do other things. Is that all enough to make your children conscious of hygiene? The answer is not. You need more than this as being consistent is what you have dealt with next. In other words, just ask your children to keep schedules on doing something related to hygiene.

As a matter of fact, children are a duplicator. This statement is absolutely right as they will do what they are used to see from their parents. So, teaching your child’s consciousness of hygiene takes you to give good samples. You, for example, have to regularly brush your teeth and do this in front of your children. This matter looks simple, but is often ignored by parents. They just dominate children by asking them to do what parents want without ever giving good samples. (more…)
